PPF, CERAMIC, OR NEITHER
Redwood City searches for PPF, Tesla paint protection film, clear bra and ceramic coating all land on this page, and we install none of them on paint. A ceramic coating gives you 18 to 36 months of shine and then hazes and gets redone, again and again. PPF gives real physical protection, but it’s a templated film with visible seams, it yellows in exactly the sun your city’s arch brags about, and around year ten it has to come off, which can risk the paint underneath.

CLIMATE BEST BY GOVERNMENT TEST
Redwood City literally puts it on the arch downtown: “Climate Best by Government Test.” More sun than almost anywhere on the Peninsula. That’s great for you, and brutal for your paint, because UV is the number one thing that kills a clear coat. It oxidizes the finish year after year until the color goes flat, and by the time you can see the fade, the damage is already done. Sun damage isn’t a wash-and-wax problem. It’s a protection problem.
