For six years, we protected thousands of vehicles using the same methods as every other shop. Ceramic coatings that fade after two years, and PPF that yellows and needs replacement. We were good at it, and our clients were happy.

But we couldn't ignore what we learned. The industry standard is built on temporary solutions and recurring revenue, not permanent protection.

In 2023, we discovered Icon Rocklear and everything changed. It's the only coating that actually works the way protection should. One application lasts 15+ years with no yellowing and no replacement. How we got here

  1. 1978

    My grandparents moved to Milpitas.

  2. 1997

    I was born and grew up in Milpitas. My dad was a mechanic, and I was always around cars from a young age as his "ultimate flashlight holder."

  3. 2015

    I graduated from Milpitas High, the same school my mom and aunts went to. High school was Initial D marathons and playing the Initial D arcade racing games with my friends after school.

  4. 2017

    I spent every dollar I'd saved from minimum wage jobs on a 2007 Mazdaspeed6, one of only 13,000 ever made. My obsession with protecting the paint on my dream car is what sparked Dragon Auto.

  5. 2019

    I installed my first ceramic coating in my grandparents' garage. No VC funding, no loans, no mommy daddy money.

  6. 2022

    We moved into our first shop, a sheet metal building that's not a looker but is where the work gets done. The team and I installed the floor tiles and did the paint ourselves.

  7. 2023

    After years of ceramic coatings and PPF, we found Icon Rocklear. That's when everything changed.

  8. 2024

    We were growing so fast that we had to expand into a second building on the same street. We tripled our vehicle volume that year.

  9. Today

    I get to work with some of the most amazing people in the Bay Area on some of the coolest cars, which is a dream come true.

That's why we're appointment-only. That's why we limit how many vehicles we take each month. We built this business on obsessive, uncompromising craftsmanship, not volume and chasing profits.
