THE STRAIGHT ANSWER
You searched ceramic coating, PPF, clear bra or Ceramic Pro and found a shop at 36 Winsor St that installs none of them on paint. We used to install both ceramic and film. A ceramic coating is shine, not protection, and thinner than a human hair, so it wears off in two to five years and you pay for it again. PPF is a film, and after three or four summers of sun on our own clients’ cars it had yellowed and every seam showed, so we stopped putting it on.
What we install is Icon Rocklear, a permanent paint protection coating that bonds into your clear coat, up to 2.5 mils per layer and thicker than your factory clear coat, with no film to yellow and no seams. It carries a 15-year manufacturer warranty and went 4,000 hours under ASTM D4587 UV testing with zero visual change. For rock chips we layer it, three coats across the hood, bumper, fenders and mirrors, which leaves a Tesla or any other daily driver with far fewer chips than a bare front end. A soft PPF absorbs a hard direct hit better than we do, and it costs thousands more to put on.
