★ 4.9 · 420 Google reviews · 4,100+ vehicles protected
Fremont commutes, the Dumbarton, the 880, and year-round sun all take a toll on paint. We protect Fremont cars with Icon Rocklear, a permanent coating that rebuilds and shields your clear coat so it holds for the life of the car. We’re a quick drive south, in Milpitas.
BEFORE YOU BOOK FILM
Most of the Fremont searches that reach this page are for paint protection film, and we stopped installing it. Full-front PPF ran our clients $2,000 to $2,500, and after three or four years of East Bay sun the film looked terrible, yellowed and lifting at the edges with every seam showing. It didn’t sit right to keep selling a service that didn’t hold up, so we moved everything to Icon Rocklear.
There is no film in Icon Rocklear. It’s a permanent paint protection coating that bonds into your clear coat at up to 2.5 mils per layer, thicker than your factory clear coat, with no edges to lift and nothing to yellow, and the manufacturer warranties it for 15 years. For the rock chips that send people shopping for film, we run three layers across the hood, bumper, fenders and mirrors, and a Fremont commuter comes back with far fewer chips than a bare front end. A soft PPF still absorbs a hard direct hit better than we do, and it costs thousands more.
A huge share of what we coat is Teslas, and Fremont builds them, so if yours came off the line on Fremont Blvd with the soft, thin paint they’re known for, that’s the exact case for a hard permanent coating. We’re 15 minutes down the 880 in Milpitas, the largest Icon Rocklear shop in California with 4.9 stars across 420 Google reviews, and the full ceramic versus PPF versus Rocklear breakdown, with the 15-year cost of each, is on our comparison page.
WHY ICON ROCKLEAR
Icon Rocklear is up to 2.5 mils of real material per layer, thicker than your factory clear coat, bonded into it. Unlike PPF, there’s no film to yellow, lift, or replace every few years. Unlike a ceramic coating, there’s no yearly reapplication. It carries a 15-year manufacturer warranty, and under ASTM D4587 weathering testing it took 4,000 hours of extreme UV with zero visual change.
