Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat

A widebody Challenger is one of the least forgiving shapes to finish well. The doors are long and nearly flat, the hood is broad, and the roof reads as one continuous surface, so there is nowhere for an average finish to hide. This red SRT Hellcat came through Dragon Auto in Milpitas, CA for Icon Rocklear, our permanent paint protection coating, and the red now carries real depth instead of just brightness, holding a single unbroken reflection from the front fender flare back through the rear quarter.

Icon Rocklear bonds into the factory clear coat rather than sitting on top of it as a sacrificial layer. On a car like this the practical payoff is that the color stays where it is. Reds are the paint family most people have watched go chalky and pink after enough summers, and a coated finish resists the UV fade and dulling that get blamed on age. It does not yellow, it never needs to come off, and it does not need waxing to keep the depth it has on the day it leaves.

The widebody kit is where a coating either proves itself or does not. The flares meet the original body at a hard crease, and the reflection has to run across that transition without breaking. The set includes side profile close-ups shot specifically to show that, plus an elevated view over the roof where the whole panel reads at once.
