Red's the least forgiving colour under studio light, and this 2023 GR Supra takes it on. The owner had us build it up to three layers of Icon Rocklear, our permanent paint protection coating, and the red now reads deeper than it did new. The hex rig lays down clean and unbroken across the hood, over the double bubble roof, and along a rear haunch that curves the reflection without ever breaking it.
The A90 body's almost all curve, and there's barely a flat panel anywhere on the car: the fenders swell over the wheels, the roof dips between two raised sections, and the tail's a compound shape folding back into the ducktail. Curved surfaces are where a finish either holds a reflection or fractures it into pieces, so the detail frames are the ones worth looking at closely. The wheel arch, the fender to headlight transition, and the spoiler and taillight corner all show it bending in one piece.
Icon Rocklear becomes part of your clear coat rather than sitting on top of it as a sacrificial layer, which is why it doesn't need stripping and redoing later. Reds are the paint family owners most often watch go chalky and pink after enough summers parked outside, and the coating resists that UV fade and the dulling that follows it. It doesn't yellow, and you're not waxing it to keep the depth it's got here.
Twenty six photos: front three quarter, rear three quarter, straight on front, then the badge, hood, door panel, quarter panel, wheel and taillight details. If you're running a red car, start with this.
