Matte paint's its own problem, because anything that adds gloss ruins the thing you've paid for. Back when we still installed film, this matte AMG GT 55 was protected with XPEL Stealth PPF, a clear film built for exactly that situation, and it isn't what we do any more. We've since moved to two coating based options instead, permanent Icon Rocklear for gloss paint and PeelClear for matte and colour change finishes.
